Who this notice covers
This notice explains how personal information is used when you visit the VCCS Bank website or use your account. “VCCS Bank” is a platform brand.
Privacy first means treating your information with care and explaining why it is needed. It is not a promise of anonymity. Public blockchains, payment services and lawful disclosure requirements create limits to financial privacy.
The information involved
Your account details
Your name, email address, account status, verification records and sign-in history help manage and protect your account. Your password is protected so it is not stored in a readable form.
Connected sign-in, if you choose it
If you choose to sign in through a connected account, an account identifier, verified email address and profile name are used to create or connect your VCCS account. VCCS does not receive the password for that account.
Your balances and transactions
Your balances, amounts, fees, wallet addresses, payment references, status updates and reward history are used to keep your account records accurate. Where card payments are available, only masked card details supplied with the payment are stored here, not complete card numbers or security codes.
Information that protects your access
Sign-in sessions, verification and recovery records, IP addresses and access information help keep the service working and protect your account. Services that support the website may also record device, network and connection information.
Information you share when asking for help
This includes messages or supporting details you provide when seeking help or making a privacy request. If further identity checks are needed, read the request carefully to understand what is needed and why.
Why your information is used
- Create and maintain your account, verify your email address and protect sign-in.
- Process deposits and sends, show your balances and keep your transaction history.
- Send verification, recovery and account security messages.
- Prevent misuse, investigate errors and protect your account.
- Handle your requests, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations.
The legal basis for using information depends on the purpose and the law that applies. Where a use relies on your consent, that consent applies to the stated purpose. You may withdraw it, subject to the rules that apply to that use.
Keeping and protecting information
Account and transaction information may need to be kept to provide the service, resolve disputes, investigate misuse and meet legal recordkeeping duties. Closing an account does not automatically erase completed financial records or public blockchain entries. Retention periods depend on the information and applicable requirements; this overview does not set a fixed period.
Password protection, verified account access, protected sign-in sessions and transaction records help reduce risks. They cannot eliminate the possibility of unauthorised access, human error or a service failure. Keep your password and recovery links private, and secure the email account you use to sign in.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to request access to your information, correct inaccurate details, request deletion, object to or restrict certain uses, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent for a use that relies on it.
Requests may require identity checks and can be subject to legal exceptions. For example, a deletion request may not cover records that must be kept by law. Withdrawing consent does not undo information use that was already lawful.
You may also have the right to raise a concern with the data protection authority responsible for your location.
Making a request and staying informed
Use a verified contact channel for a privacy request and explain the information or account issue you want help with. Never include passwords, verification links or private keys.
